Chapter 111

The sun was setting when they reached home. Jacob and Romeo were sleeping, Jacob on Richie’s lap and Romeo on Cheyenne’s.

The two boys woke up as soon as the car stopped. Violet hustled back inside to get a bath ready for the two little boys.

Cheyenne followed the screaming and the giggling and found a soaked Jon and two giggling boys in a bathtub full of foam.

They had a water fight apparently and Jon was losing…badly.

She stood at the door drinking in his looks, the gorgeous smile on his face and foam puffs on his hair. His shirt was soaking wet and her mind went totally south.

Jacob noticed Cheyenne and aimed at her with his water gun. Hitting her right in the face. Jon noticed her then, beckoning her to come closer.

“Get her boys!” The boys let it fly and in a few seconds Cheyenne was thoroughly soaked. She laughed and rushed forward , dipping her hands in the tub, splashing water all over the boys. Cheyenne took handfuls of foam and turned to Jon smoothing it all over his face.

“Daddy look like Santa Claus! Look Romeo!”

Jon grabbed her hands, stilling them. The joy in his eyes turned into….love? Was she imagining things?

He moved towards her face and rubbed the foam onto her face as well. Making the boys squeal with laughter.

‘Now Channe has a beard too!”

It took a lot of pleading to get them out of the bath. Jon took Jacob and Cheyenne, Romeo.

By the time they were dressed, Violet called them for dinner.

Jacob and Romeo didn’t eat much and was ready for bed not too long after.

Richie decided to take the two teenagers out for a movie.

Suddenly the house was quiet, too quiet. Violet had left, leaving them all alone.

“Let’s go soak in my tub. I have a nice bottle of wine waiting for us. You game, baby?”

“I can’t sleep here again, Jon. I have my own place you know.”

“I told you it was a damn stupid move. But you wouldn’t listen. One night can’t hurt, can it and besides I had your nighties brought up to the house.”

“Oh God Jon you are so sure of yourself! What would the people think?”

“I paid them to do what I say, not to think about it.”

She took his hand and walked quietly to the bedroom, his words reminding her once again who he actually was.
