Chapter 126

The following week was hectic. Stacey decided to give all Wayne’s clothing and shoes to the Salvation Army. Cheyenne thought that it might be too early, but Stacey insisted and she helped friend pack all his stuff.

A lady came to pick it up and thanked them vigorously for donating the clothes.

Cheyenne and Stacey then made up a list of all the names to call to cancel the wedding arrangements, flowers, venue, church, wedding cake etc.

Stacey was so pale and starting crying so badly that she gave her friend a calming tablet, put her to bed, picked up the list and continued with the phone calls.

It was a gruelling job, so many questions and some very irate people. After a while she lost her cool and screamed at them telling then that the groom died in a car accident what the hell did they want!

When the day drew to a close she had a pounding headache and close to tears herself.

So many dreams were shattered the moment his car hit that damn truck. God!… life can be so cruel!

Cheyenne made a light meal and by the time it was done, Stace got up and joined her.

“Stace I have to go into town tomorrow. I need to buy a fancy dress thingy for a charity event Jon wants me to go to.”

“Well, you think I’m gonna stay at home while you spend on Jon Bon Jovi’s credit card, no fucking way gal!”

Cheyenne was so stunned at her sudden humor, she only stared and suddenly a giggle escaped from her throat. Stacey joined in and the giggles turned into laughter.

The girls were up bright and early looking forward to shopping, relieved that the worst was now behind them.

The girls had breakfast at their favourite restaurant. The aroma of fresh brewed coffee attracted hordes of people, it made the intimate little shop lively but yet relaxing.

The girls were planning their shopping spree when Cheyenne’s phone rang.

“Hello, baby.”

‘Hi, to you too.”

“Whatcha doin? Sound like your two are having fun?” His voice sounded tired.

“We are having breakfast and then we are on our way to shop for my dress.”

“Hhhmmmmm Woman stuff…I miss you…God when am I going to feel you in my arms again?”

“It’s not too long…” The longing in his voice gave her butterflies in her tummy. His voice was hoarse and sexy…

“Well, baby Richie just signalled me to get going. Go buy yourself a sexy little number, so I can get rid of it as soon as I can get you alone..and baby…I love you. Take care of yourself, k?”

The moment he said he loved her, her insides melted..

“I love you too…”

“Oh …my…God..Chey did you just tell the man you love him?”

‘Well, I had to he said it first..”

“Oh God! Do I hear wedding bells?” The moment she said it her expression changed.

“Oh, honey. This is gonna hurt for a long time..but it will get better..you’ll see.”

“God, Chey I miss him…I miss him so damn much!”

“I know Stace…I know” They hugged each other.

“Well, girlfriend lets go get you a sexy little dress so you can knock mr.Bon Jovi off his feet and on that cute ass of his.”

“Hey, stop staring at my man’s ass…” Chey laughed.

Stace snorted..”Oh sure as if that’s possible”
