Jon placed his hands on hers, pulling them to his lips. The playfulness in his eyes disappeared and was replaced with concern, turning his eyes to a darker shade of blue.
“What’s wrong, rockstar? Not enough money to pay for the plate?”
The vulnerable smile tugged at her heart.
“Baby, I feel like an ass about last night. I went way overboard and I treated you like a cheap whore. You deserve much more than that. Can you forgive me?”
“I did forgive you already. You did say you were sorry earlier. But I must admit you scared me last night. I know you overreacted and you said you’re sorry. It’s ok..really.” She placed a soft kiss on his lips..as she moved away he pulled her closer.
“I’m sorry baby” She felt rather than heard it against her lips. His tongue parted her lips and plundered into the warmth of her mouth. She opened to him and gave herself over to the feelings it awoken in her.
They enjoyed another freshly brewed cup of coffee and hailed another cab. Their flight was leaving in about two hours time and Jon had to pack.
They reached the hotel and Cheyenne packed the few things she used. She decided to lay down on the bed and keep Jon company.
Jon looked up from his bag. Cheyenne had drifted off to sleep. She looked like an angel lying on the bed like that.
He fished the ring from his pocket, opened the little box and stared at it. This marriage is going to last, it had to.
He threw the jewellery box in his bag and closed it.
There was a knock. Joe was ready to take their bags to the limo.
Cheyenne felt a soft touch on her face. She opened her eyes and stared into sky blue eyes.
“Baby, we have to leave. The plane is ready.”
They reached the airport and got onto the plane without any delays.
Cheyenne snuggled into Jon’s shoulder, closing her eyes.
“I’m so tired. Can I sleep for a few?”
“Sure baby I’ll wake you up as soon as we get there.” He kissed her lightly on the fore head.
The last thing she remembered was Jon’s voice speaking on his telephone.
Cheyenne woke up and looked around. It was getting dark outside and she noticed she was alone.
The hostess offered her some coffee and she accepted.
Jon came walking up the to her.
“Awake, baby? You were dead to the world.”
“I didn’t sleep well since Wayne’s death. So I really enjoyed catching up on some sleep.”
“You look lovely when you sleep.” He leaned forward and kiss her on the bridge of her nose.
“We will be home in an hour’s time. Violet is making dinner for us, so I suggest you don’t eat anything on the plane.”
“Oh I wouldn’t dare.”
