“Jon we have to go.” Joe stood behind him, feeling like an idiot for interrupting a intimate moment.
Jon sighed and closed his eyes for a minute.
“Yeah, I’m coming, Thanx Joe.”
He kissed her again, crushing her to him for the last time.
“You take care of her!”
“I will, bro. You know that.”
Stacey and Cheyenne were crying as they said goodbye.
Life was starting for Stacey again, reality was back to rear its ugly head.
“Thanx for everything Chey. I had a wonderful time!”
‘Thanx to you too. I’m going to miss you so badly!”
Richie and Stacey stood in front of each other an awkward moment for both of them.
He opened his arms and she walked into his embrace.
“Thank you for the good time you had given me, darling. You have my number, I’ll call you every day and I’ll come see you soon.”
He kissed her softly on the lips, crushing her to him.
“You better come and see me soon Sambora! Don’t make me wait too long.” She tried her best to be funny but the slight quivering in her lips and the unnatural shine in her eyes told everyone otherwise.
‘You bet, honey…nothing will keep me away.”
Richie and Stacey stared at the two figures walking away from them, an empty feeling inside them.
‘Let’s get you to the doc, missy.”
He pulled her into his side, walking that way to the car.
Cheyenne drowsed of as the car rolled on. She woke with a start as Richie stroked her cheek, waking her up.
“Come sleepy head. We are here.”
The reception was quiet and she walked to the doctor’s room immediately.
He came in smiling at her.
She hand a nasty cold, laryngitis and the beginning of bronchitis.
The doctor chuckled as Cheyenne stammered at his questions about her bruised body, the love bites were a dead give away.
He sat down at the table, writing the prescription for her.
“Did you see the gynaecologist recently? I felt a slight swelling and with your history I suggest you make an appointment to see him, ok?”
Cheyenne was caught off guard.
“Could it maybe be..uum… the lovemaking?” She felt herself blush from head to toe.
“It could be. But what concerned me was that you winched slightly when I applied pressure. It could be nothing, but I’ll feel better if you go see the gynaecologist as soon as possible. You are still young and we want to give you every opportunity to have children. How is your menstrual cycle?”
“It is irregular, but I have never been regular with that sort of thing.”
He handed her the paper.
“Here you go then. Hope you feel better real soon. Remember to finish the antibiotic course and remember to make an appointment soon.”
She thanked the doctor and found Richie in the waiting room, a pen in his hand and a few blushing women around him. She had to smile, even with the irritation only she could see, he had an enormous smile on his face.
She waited for him outside.
Don’t even say a thing, his eyes flashed at her.
She lifted her hands in defence, giggling at him.
They stopped by the pharmacy and went straight back home.
Violet was waiting for her with steamy chicken broth and freshly baked bread. Standing over her like a mother hen, making sure she ate every bit.
