Chapter 220

Cheyenne sat down in front of the doctor her heart making flip flops as the doctor read through her test results.

He looked up at her and she almost fainted, too scared to hear what he had to say.

“Miss Roberts , your tests shows a raised level of CA-125, so I am sure that you have a non cancerous ovarian cyst. Please lay down on the bed so I can do the sonar.”

Cheyenne laid on the bed, feeling the cold jell on her stomach. She stared at the screen not knowing what the hell she was looking at.

The doctor pointed at the screen.

“You see that dark spot, that is the cyst. We are going to leave it this way. You will have a check up regularly to see how it progresses. If it keeps on growing we’ll have to surgically remove it but in your case it wouldn’t be a good idea.”

Cheyenne nodded and turned her gaze back to the moving screen.

She turned her eyes back to the doctor, taken aback at the smile on his face.

“Now, the actual thing I wanted to show you is this.”

He pointed to a little thingy, what she wasn’t sure of.

“I know you said you weren’t planning this but I want you to meet your new baby..”

Cheyenne felt light headed.

“MY WHAT?”

“There is a little Bongiovi on the way if I may say so. The blood test came out positive for pregnancy. You should be happy! It is still very early but…” The doctor’s voice trailed off….

Cheyenne’s joy turned into instant concern.

“What’s wrong now?”

“I don’t know how to tell you this…see this…this …this is a second embryonic sac. You are going to have twins.”

“Oh my God, this is not happening!”

“Yes, I’m afraid it is.” He wiped the jell from her and helped her up.

“Now before we get all happy we need to discuss the risks. You still have extensive scarring which could be problematic as the babies grow. You are classified as a high risk pregnancy the moment you expect more than one baby, but your history makes it even more serious. Then there is another thing, the pregnancy is still very early and there is a slight chance that one embryo might die, so please be prepared for this. As for the cyst, it won’t place the babies in any danger. I’m almost certain that it will disappear with time. ”

Cheyenne sat in the chair, listening to the doctor, floating on cloud number nine. She was carrying Jon’s babies inside her. She couldn’t wait to tell him. TWINS!!

The doctor handed her pamphlets and prenatal vitamins, encouraging her to come and see him in about two weeks time, they should be able to hear the heartbeats by then and confirm that both babies are doing fine. Just as she walked out he stopped her and handed her a little sonar picture.

My babies…

The smile on Cheyenne’s face will be with Richie till the day he dies.

“What are you smiling about, honey? I guess you had some good news.”

“Well I do have a cyst. That caused the swelling and stuff, but it will go away on its own, but take a look at this..”

She handed him the black and white paper. Watching him as he tried his damndest to look intelligent.

“Ok, now I know I’m not an idiot but what the fuck are you trying to show me?”
