Chapter 223

By the time Richie reached Jersey he was way passed drunk. He was a broken man and he needed someone who understands him and accepted him for who he is. He headed towards the little cottage near the river…

Cheyenne was in her cottage watching a movie when she heard a loud bang outside.

She rushed towards the door, switched on the light on the porch and poked her head around the door.

Richie was on the steps, drunk as hell.

“Richie what in the hell are you doing here? I thought you were with Stacey?”

Richie slurred as he spoke.

“She chased me away, she doesn’t love me anymore…”

She tried to pull Richie up but he was a dead weight.

“ Richie, lets go in. I’ll make you some coffee, you are going to have one hell of a hangover”

Richie stood up, leaning heavily on her as they swayed their way back into the cottage.

He slumped down on the couch.

“When did you start drinking?”

“When I got on the plane….I think…” Richie lay his head down, the room was spinning and he just needed to lay down for a while.

Cheyenne brought him some coffee.

“Are you hungry…Richie…..are you hungry sweetie?”

“Naaaaw. Just coffee….oh shit…”

The hot cup of coffee fell all over his shirt .

“Oh fuck its burning,…ouch..ouch….fuck!”

Cheyenne rushed towards him taking his shirt off as quick as possible.

An angry red patch covered his chest.

She rushed to the bathroom, finding a cloth with a bowl of cold water.

Richie complained and sulked as she washed the burnt skin down.

“Oh yu are just a big baby. See what happens if you get drunk? Now sit still!”

“Ok mama…You are going to be a mama. Shit you sound like one already..” He started giggling, his infectious laugh drawing a giggle from Cheyenne.

“ Oh Rich, what am I gonna do with you? I think you need sleep on this couch tonight. There is no way I’m going to get you home.”

By the time she came back with a pillow and a blanket, Richie was snoring, obvlious to the world. She placed the pillow behind his head, took off his shoes and tucked him in.
