Chapter 78

It was late when the guys came to eat their supper. Cheyenne had bathed and changed into a tank top and a pair of track pants. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail that made her look like a young girl. Tico and David were staying over until the weekend.

She loved the laughter and busy household when the guys were all together. It gave the huge mansion some life.

After the meal the guys decided to take the party to Jon’s bar on the premises, The Shoe Inn. She had heard of the bar before and saw pics of it but she has never been inside.

The guys went outside and Cheyenne called Jon. She had something to discuss with him.

“Jon, I think its time for me to move to the cottage.”

“Why? Don’t you like the house?” Jon frowned

“Of cause I do, its just that your kids are coming and I don’t want to intrude. You need to spend time with them alone, and I think maybe a strange woman in the house may upset them. It will take time for them to get used to me.”

His eyes turned into an icy blue. “Is that really the reason or do you want to get rid of me? Cause baby I have news for you no matter where you go, I’ll haunt you. You will never escape me. But if you feel so strongly about it, fine. I’ll get the maids to clean the place up.”

He turned and walked out.

She went to the library and found a book and returned to her bedroom. Cheyenne just started to get comfy when her phone rang.

“Well hello stranger! Don’t know the poor people this side any more?”

“Stace! Hello girlfriend what ya been doing? Did you start the wedding arrangements yet?”

The spoke for an hour about the wedding and general stuff. Stacey asked her if she could come down for a week she needed her opinion on a wedding dress. Cheyenne had to clear it with Jon first so she would call her back, as soon as possible.

It was late when she turned out the lights, she felt disappointed that Jon didn’t even say goodnight.
