Chapter 325

Jake was white as snow, his eyes huge in his face as he bend down reaching for the swimming pool, calling out to his sibling.

Oh God, please not that!

The clothing drifting in the water sent a lame feeling to the pit of her stomach.

Chiquita was standing next to the pool, dripping wet, shaking violently.

“ROMEO! Jake go call mommy and daddy.”

“Mommy and daddy are going to be very angry!”

“Everything is gonna be ok, honey. Just call them!”

Cheyenne brazed herself against the cold water. The little boy was fighting to stay afloat but to no avail. The horror on his little face would haunt her forever. She swam as fast as the cold water and her heavy clothes would allow towards the panicking boy, now too tired to fight the cold. When she reached him, he went underwater again, she grabbed at him calling his name hysterically.

The moment her hand grabbed the jacket she sighed until she realised it was only the jacket. She dived under the water finding the boy under the water. She held onto him with all her might, dragging at him. Suddenly she felt a strong pair of hands pulling her up.

Romeo’s grip was weak but he was conscious enough to hold on to her. Jon’s face spoke of horror and shock, his face a grey.

Violet and Dot stood at the edge, each holding thick towels.

“Jon take him, my hands can’t hold on any more. I’m fine just get him out of the water.”

Her clothes weighed her down, so she made her way slowly to the steps. She had a nagging feeling in her side but tried her best to disguise it. Romeo needs his parents’ help now.

Violet pulled the heavily pregnant woman out of the swimmingpool. Dragging her soggy wet sweater from her. Servants ran closer taking the clothes, bringing some towels for Jon as well.

Romeo’s pathetic cry was like music in her ears. Thank God he was ok! His mother held onto him for dear life, Jon stroking his hair.

“It’s ok buddy. You are safe now.” Adrenalin worked his way through his body and she saw his hands shaking.

When he was sure Romeo was ok, he turned towards Cheyenne.

“Baby, are you ok? Get a warm bath going for Romeo and Cheyenne , ask the servants to make something hot for everyone.” He barked out orders and Violet and the servants ran towards the mansion to follow his orders as quickly as possible.

Cheyenne saw Jakie standing to one side. His small lips were quivering.

“Jakie honey, come here.”

The little boy ran into her wet body, clinging to her.

“I’m sorry Cheyenne. I tried to stop Romeo but he wouldn’t listen. I told him puppies could swim, she would be ok and he wouldn’t listen.”

“Its ok sweetie. Romeo is gonna be ok.”

Jon had removed his shirt, he leaned forward scooping the boy into his arms.

“No worries big man. Romeo is ok now.”

Everybody walked towards the mansion. Cheyenne had a hard time keeping her face straight. Violet noticed her discomfort but kept silent as Cheyenne’s eyes begged her not to say a word. Jon held her close to him, Jakie on his other arm, clinging to his dad.

She entered the bedroom with Violet. Violet laid out dry clothes for her but when she turned to walk out Cheyenne called for her help.

Violet rushed to her side, she looked at Cheyenne worriedly.

“Could you please help me into the bath. I’m having some trouble at the moment.”

She helped Cheyenne in, holding her breath as she heard Cheyenne groaning as the pain sliced through her.

“Should I call Jon? Or should I call the doctor?”

“No, I’m sure I’ll be fine, if you would be a sweetheart and fetch me my meds. I’m sure its just the shock and the cold water. I’m sure the meds and the warm bath would fix me in a flash.” Cheyenne put up her bravest face, somehow deep inside she knew the pains felt different to the others.
