Chapter 261

Jon called Richie, informing him of Cheyenne, asking him to let Tico and David know as well. He asked Stacey to pack an overnight bag for Cheyenne.

Cheyenne received an injection to relieve the pain. Jon was sitting close to her bed, watching her, not saying a word.

“Mr.Bon Jovi could I have a word with you?”

“Sure” Jon turned towards Cheyenne, the coldness in her eyes stopped him in his tracks. He turned around and walked out.

“Please call me Jon.”

The doctor showed him to a private room and closed the door.

“I’ve picked up on some tension between you and Miss Roberts. The stress is not good for her. I didn’t mention it but the babies show signs of extreme stress. It’s not a good sign and with Miss Roberts’ history I would suggest keeping her calm and rested. She has a chance of premature labour and its way too early for that. The babies wouldn’t be able survive this.”

“We are going through a rough time. But I’ll make sure she will be well looked after, its my babies too and I just want the best for her and the babies.”

“I know you do.” He shook Jon’s hand and left.

Cheyenne was sleeping when he walked in. He dragged his chair towards the bed, took her hand in his and studied her beautiful face. Tear tracks stained her cheeks and her eyes seemed puffy. Her skin had a grey pallor and her hand was cold as death.

The fighting caused all this shit and they had to stop it. The fear on Cheyenne’s face haunted him and he knew that if anything should happen to the babies she would hold him responsible.

He laid his head on the bed for a minute listening to her even breathing…

“Jon…..bro’ wake up.”

Richie was shaking him gently on the shoulder.

Jon lifted his head immediately staring at four very worried pairs of eyes.

Stacey was clutching Cheyenne’s bag. Tico and David stood at her feet staring down at the pale woman in the bed.

Richie was at Jon’s side an unhealthy color on his face.

“What happened bro’?”

“Cheyenne experienced some horrible pain and I decided to bring her in. The doctor found traces of blood, he did and ultrasound and the babies are ok, but he said I need to keep her calm and rested otherwise we may look at premature labour.”

“But its too early! The babies will never make it.”

A sharp gasp came from Cheyenne and they all swung around.

“Oh baby I’m sorry we should have discussed it outside!” She moved slightly away from him as he reached for her. Nobody missed the slight rejection and they frowned at each other.

“Hey Chey! How are you feeling girl?” Stacey was fighting the tears for her friend’s sake. She bent down and hugged her.

Tico and David gave her a kiss, squeezing her hand sympathetically.

Tico spoke to her in his low, vibrating voice.

“You and the babies are going to be fine. You just need to rest and look after yourself carefully, darlin’”

Richie bend down, kissed her softly on the lips, pulling her into his arms and stood like that for a moment, not giving a shit what people think.

“Hey honey. You have to keep these babies inside as long as possible. We want to see if they look like their ugly dad or their beautiful mother!”

She laughed at him through hazy tears.

“I’m trying!”

David walked forward a mock stern look on his face.

“Well try harder dammit! I know you, you are a fighter, you are going to have these babies when the time is right.”

He bent down to her tummy.

‘I know I told you to give your dad major shit. But I didn’t mean to do it right away, k babies? You have to grow strong to fight that dad of yours so stay put and bob around in the water or whatever you babies do in there and get ready for your big day.”

Everyone laughed and it lifted the morbid mood in the room.

Cheyenne rubbed her bump, smiling down at it.

“They are little fighters. I just know it. They are going to be just perfect!”

Jon’s eyes shone lovingly at her.

“They are going to be just fine. I’ll make sure of that.” His face was grim with determination, his eyes burning into her tummy as if he was talking to the twins inside her.
