Chapter 275

Cheyenne was basking in the sun on the patio when the car drew up. The kids rushed out of the car all at once. Dot had to keep the two young boys back for fear they might hurt Cheyenne in their excitement.

Cheyenne got up, a warm welcoming smile on her lips as she awaited them. All eyes were on her bump and at that moment a breeze blew from the river and plastered her dress to her body giving them an even better view.

“Aaaaw Cheyenne you look wonderful!” Steph hugged her closed, touching her bump as she moved away.

“Steph! Don’t do that girl! Not everyone likes it when you touch them like that.” Steph withdrew her hand, looking a bit embarrassed for overstepping the boundary.

Cheyenne captured her hand.

“Hey, we are family! You are welcome to touch my tummy as mush as you like! One of these days you would even be able to feel the babies move.”

Jesse gave her a quick kiss and hug, His eyes moving to her tummy, a slight flush on his face.

By that time Jakie and Romeo was dragging their mother down the path.

Cheyenne smiled at her.

‘Its ok. Let the little rascals loose.”

“Are you sure?” Dot looked doubtful, a crooked smile on her face.

Cheyenne nodded and she let them go, calling after them to be careful for God’s sake.

Jakie reached her first, unlike his wild boyish behaviour he stood still in front of her staring at her bump.

“Cheyenne my mommy said you have two babies in there. Is that true? Your tummy is so small, how can two babies fit in there?”

“There are two babies sweetheart, they are still very small but they are growing everyday. One of these days I’m gonna have a huge tummy like Santa.”

The little boy’s eyes widened. ”That big! Wow!”

Romeo pulled at her dress. She kneeled down and his little arms crushed her to him.

“Hey big boy! Did you miss me?”

“Hello Channe! Look I brought you something.”

He opened his hand and handed her a crushed flower.

“That is so beautiful! Thank you darling!”

He eyed her stomach. “When are the babies coming out?”

“Still a few months to go sweetie!”

‘Are they boys or girls?”

‘I’m not sure yet, but as soon as the doctor tells us I’ll call your mommy and she’ll tell you, k?”

Jon came walking out just as Dot hugged Cheyenne.

“At last I get to say hello! How are you?”

“Oh I’m just great! The babies are great, I actually felt them move today for the first time!”

“Oh that’s the best feeling of all and when they are born you miss that movement inside you.”

“Hey Dot.” Jon studied the causal conversation between the two women.

“Hi Jon, how are you? By the looks of it, busy.” She winked as she nodded towards Cheyenne.

He laughed at her insinuation.

“Always busy darling, you should know that, especially in that department.”

Step caught her dad’s remark.

“Daaaad! Sis man! There are kids here!”

He ruffled her hair playfully.

“Yeah and kids are not supposed to listen what adults talk about!”
